The O' beat the Pirates 4-1 in a hard fought victory behind a solid outing by Derick Sodre. The offense was lead by a great game at the plate by Kevin scoobs Hamel, Derick Sodre and Andy Gagnon .
Ben Swales pitched a 3 hit shutout against the Pirates Wed evening. Pat Morissey got the Astros on the board early with some aggressive baserunning out of the leadoff spot. This would prove to be all the offense Swales would need as he picked up the complete game victory in front of some solid defense by the Astros.
The O's scored one run in each of the first 4 innings to take a 4-0 victory. Brian Brunelle pitch a complete game shut out for the Os. Phil Thibeault added 2 rbi's to lead the offense. The O's played great defense to perserve the shut out. Bobby #7 for the Dodgers pitched a great game as well. John Doran added to hits for the dodgers.
The Astros defeated the Black Sox 12 - 1 in 5 innings on Sunday evening. Eric Swales pitched 1 hit ball through 4 for the Astros. The Astros offense was powered by Ryan Cody who knocked in 5, and Joe Sousa who hit a 3 run homerun, his 2nd of the year. Rob Belair had 2 hits and an RBI. Ryan Cody made an outstanding diving catch in center field to help Pat Morrisey close the door on the Black Sox.
Derek Sodre took a tough loss, as he pitched well earning 14 strikeouts over six innings. Leading the charge for the Cardinals was Mike Colon who pitches 5 innings of scattering just a few hits throughout his performance. The Orioles run was scored on a single to left that scored Kieth Duschanes. Leading the offense for the Cardinals was Ricky Larochelle with 2 hits, Mike Patenaude with a double, and Cj Monoxelous with a bases loaded 2 run single, which he was able to continue on to 3rd on a throwing error.
Dodgers beat the Pirates 9-1 on Wednesday night. The game was close for the first few innings behind good pitching performances by Bryan Murphy (Dodgers) and Matt Fuller (Pirates).But in the end the Dodgers offense would strike behind long ball of Kurt Holston and Corey Juczak and a pair of RBI singles by Sean Benoit. The Dodgers also turned their first ever triple play to end a rally when the game was close in the 3rd or 4th inning to put an end to a Pirates rally. Kenny LeClair had a pair of singles and an rbi for the Pirates
The O' jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead early but the astros battled back to take a 5-4 lead going into the top of the sixth. Mike Belair hit a 2 run homer to help the Astros take the lead only to be answered by Brian Brunelles fourth home run of the year a two run shot in the bottom of the sixth . Derrick Sodre came on in the seventh and struck out the side in order to earn his 2nd save of the season Kevin Hamel added 3 hits in the o' 6-5 victory. Rob Belair had 2 hits and 2 RBI's and Eric Swales pitched well in a losing effort for the Astros.
